Ant Encased in Burmese Amber I
Ant encased in Burmese Amber (Kachin Amber) excavated from Cretaceous level strata in the Hukawng Valley of Northern Myanmar (Burma). Evolutionary minded scientists assign a date of 95 to 98 million years old to the strata deposits and the amber they contain. The Ant in this Cretaceous amber appears remarkably similar to its modern counterparts.
